Kensington

Kensington by Mosaic

Bridging the character of heritage streetscape and parkland, Kensington by Mosaic expresses the legacy of Toowong’s late 19th century vernacular.

Ensuring the development intent was carried forward as an architectural form with a marketable point of difference, we were engaged by Mosaic Property through a staged design competition. This is the developers’ eighth offer in Brisbane. Having already grown a following for contemporary owner-occupier apartments and sell out developments, the challenge was to meet the expectations of the market and provide a unique design for Mosaic’s portfolio. The result is a dense yet spacious development, hosting 63, two- and three-bedroom apartments over eight levels, topped by a penthouse, and a shared rooftop recreational deck.

Modern Sensibility

The interior is designed to present an urban elegance with open plan apartments, with floor to ceiling glazing framing views to the parkland. The design responds to an owner-occupier market that looks to leverage cost effective apartments with a sleek and urban edge. Interior finishes are purposefully neutral textured and retrained, with joinery elements inspired by the same.

Most 3-bedroom apartments benefit from a multi-purpose room for added functionality and flexibility. All apartments include a generous balcony with operable doors, creating the quintessential alfresco experience. Carried through to the shared spaces, the rooftop recreational deck includes an infinity edge pool, sun-deck, barbeque and dinning area with a spectacular sweeping hinterland views.
