The name Songbird derives from the birds who migrated from Australia 23 million years ago, echoing themes of travel and habitat which resonate with the Level 5 podium rooftop location. The rooftop is divided into a number of terraces to be reserved for separate parties, each stepped to prevent foreshortening of quayside views. The entire bar takes advantage of its commanding view over Elizabeth Quay, the hotel’s scenography group took inspiration from the natural themes of the hotel design and combined this with local food and beverages to create their sunset hour. The outdoor fire pit is lit and visitors perch around the rooftop gardens and pool to enjoy the twilight. The Interior Design combines polished stainless steel finishes of the external terraces with blue and gold finishes to create a cool refuge during the day and a vibrant eclectic party venue by night. Cottee Parker collaborated with the hotel’s appointed Hong Kong based F+B designer, AND Associates, to carry their concept design through development and delivery phases. Cottee Parker also lead the design and delivery of all service areas including keg rooms, hot servery kitchen, and amenities.
