Pier One Hotel in Sydney’s Walsh Bay is a stunning state-listed heritage building, and guests from around the world are drawn to the building’s character and sweeping harbour views. With the building’s popularity growing internationally, a renovation and extension was completed in order to further enhance the end-user experience.
The project involved extending the hotel into new vacated space at the northern end of the pier and included the addition of 29 new hotel rooms, a gym, offices and new conference and function rooms.
Broken up into two stages, the project was extended and reconfigured to increase functionality without compromising on the notable heritage aspects of the site.
Cottee Parker Architects’ two-stage extension of the iconic property was a Property Council National Finalist in 2014 for ‘Best Heritage Development’.
